week 12 assignment Use Gloster in teaching

Gloster is a teaching and learning tool. Teachers, students or individual can use Gloster to create their own poster.  You can put images, video, URL link, music and picture and sentences in the Gloster to create a poster that can present class content that you want students to know. Students can enter the code of the class and access the class. Both in the classroom and out of the classroom students can learn the class content and enhance students learning. Implant the Gloster in the lesson plan can help students easier to decode the lesson content. Students understanding the text or decoding the meaning of the sentences by reading the text and combine with video and pictures and follow the instruction in the poster. It practices on students independent reading skills, especially for ELA learner. The teacher also can assign students to make their own poster, in the process of making the poster it practices students research and reading skills. When students make research on what their learning, and finding information on the internet, it inspires students critical thinking and creativity. From the poster, it demonstrates students understanding of the class content and their thought. We also can use students’ poster to make the informal assessment of students’ learning outcomes. Implement the education tool in the lesson plan can motivate students learning and make student learning effectively.

1. Theories and Practices of Multimodal Education: In today’s teaching in the classroom, teacher needs to use multimodal ways to inform students about learning theories and practice. The multimodal theories include Picture books, interaction with peers, gesture, drama, drawing, and ways of incorporating, integrating and extending linguistic signs.
