week2 assignment3 Understanding ELA Instruction
Reading:
The goal of reading is comprehension and the text complexity apply to reading comprehension. The students need to develop their ability to read from easy to complex. The students need to making an increasing number of connections among the idea and text. The standard expects students to have the ability to find evidence from the text and more sensitive to inconsistencies, ambiguities and poor reasoning in texts.
Writing:
Reading and writing are relative. The students expect to have ability of planning, revise, edit and publish. The writing standard cultivates students' ability to write properly in argument, informative/ explanatory text and narratives. The writing skills are important to research and find evident from literary and informative text. Some of schools use blogger, voki to enhance students writing and learnership for the purpose of publication.
Speaking and listening:
It includes flexible communication and collaboration. Teachers need to focus on skills of formal presentation, the students need to develop a skill of oral communication, group work discussion. Speaking and listening skill develop student’s ability to express themselves and lesson carefully to idea integrate information from oral, visual, quantitation and media source. The students expect to evaluate what they hear from the information resources and express their though to achieve communication purpose. Students can practice speaking and listening skill by group discussion and presentation.
Language:
Language includes conventions, effective use and vocabulary. The vocabulary stands focus on understanding the words and phrases relationship. To practice language skill, we can combine technology in teaching to help students learning the new vocabulary.
