I create this book for grade 1 to grade 3 children for literacy learning in reading, writing and speaking. The book writes about 10 facts about polar bears. The book helps children get know polar bears’ habits, living environment and etc. I add coach reader in every page and giving questions during the children reading the book. I believe questions always can bring students thinking and enforce students' learning process. It gives students opportunities to understand the text content and use their logic to find the clue and answer the questions with support details. This book can use in the class and after class. ELA teacher can use this book in reading writing or science class to give practice on students’ literacy skills. In the class, the teacher can read the book page by page and giving students instruction and let students understand the facts about the polar bears. The teacher can let students answer the questions at the bottom of the pages and give students opportunities discuss what they think. The students can express their opinion and give support detail of their answers. I believe answer the questions is a good way to practice literacy skill for students especially on ELL leaner.  When students answer the questions, it is a process to practice on students speaking skill and enforce students remember the text content and give practice on their reading and writing skills. After class, students can go to the book builder’s link and review what they learned in the class and type the answer on the pages. The teacher can check students work on the book builder to know students learning results.

  1. I agree with the use of your book you created. This was a good idea, as you mention it can be used in reading, writing and science class. It will certainly improve their reading and writing skills. I believe students also enjoy reading it considered it is done by one of their peers.
